Clifton Park Soccer Club, Inc.
Minutes of December 13, 2002

The next meeting is at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14th.

PRESIDENT: A new resolution was passed by the Board requiring a team representative to attend the monthly Club meetings. The resolution reads as follows: A representative from each team is required to attend each and every Club meeting or be assessed a $50 fine for failure to attend the monthly Club meeting. The fine will be deducted from the $400 allotted to each team for tournaments. For the 2002-2003 season, teams will be required to pay any such fines before they can enter the Clifton Park Tournament. This will go into effect starting with the January 2003 meeting. A lot of important information is presented at Club meetings and it provides a place for coaches to share knowledge and experience. We have experienced coaches calling to obtain information that was discussed at Club meeting, looking for forms passed out at meetings and not always aware that we have a coaches manual. These instances and low team representation at Club meetings was the thrust for this resolution. CDYSL Spring League placement forms were passed out to coaches. These forms MUST be returned at our next meeting, they are due to the CDYSL Office on January 17th. Remember to choose No Play Dates on the form. The lights were tested, they work!

PREMIER LEAGUE: December 2nd was the deadline for applications to enter the league.

CDYSL: Nothing to report, the December meeting was not held yet.

REGISTRAR: Nothing to report.

TOURNAMENT: A meeting was held on December 2nd. Tournament Committee is looking for help, please contact Al if you are interested. Due to the construction projects starting at Shen this year, we will lose some of the field space we normally use for the tournament. We are looking at ways to reconfigure fields and may have to cut the number of teams that we allow to enter. Each team will need an Ad Coordinator for the Tournament. This person will be responsible for securing ads for our tournament book. They will work with the Ad Committee to coordinate and minimize number of visits each person has to make. This role counts as your two-hour commitment for the Tournament.

VOLUNTEER: Need the names of the Volunteer Coordinators for each team. Each parent has to volunteer two hours per child for our Tournament and as needed during the season.

COACHING COMMITTEE: Any coach interested in obtaining reimbursement for a D, E or F license must obtain approval from the coaching committee first. Request should be in writing, they can be e-mailed to MLRC25@aol.com. Courses are being offered at Charbonneau's in January. Bring your Spring League placement forms to the January meeting or you will be responsible for getting the form to CDYSL yourself.

INDOOR: Mich still has 6 facility use forms for the gym practice space, if you do not have yours please pick it up. Facility use forms should be carried with you each week to practice. Orenda will NOT be available for practice on Saturday January 11th until noon, am practices are canceled.

OLD BUSINESS: Lori asked about the status of our Club's web site. Bob Wilson and Cindy Beighey are working to expand and update the site.

NEW BUSINESS: A plaque was presented to Jim McGowan to recognize his hard work and commitment as Tournament Director of the Clifton Park International Soccer Classic.
