Minutes of October 19th, 2004
The next meeting is at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16th.
Annual General Meeting
President Peter Clinton called the meeting to order. He
introduced and turned the meeting over to Joe Thorne, chairperson of
the Nominating Committee. Joe announced the following slate of officers:
President, Peter Clinton; Vice President, Frank Berger; Treasurer, Karl
Gerstenberger; Secretary, Jim Allen; Registrar, Bruce Rosenthal and
CDYSL Representative, John Seltenreich. Joe stated that we have four
at-large board positions and this year we have four candidates for these
positions. The Nominating Committee recommends the following individuals:
Lori Peters, Mark Jenkins, Garrett Mabee and Shawn Fuss. Additional
nominations were solicited from the floor, none were received. Chairman
Thorne instructed the Secretary to cast one ballot for the slate. The
Secretary cast one ballot making the above the Officers of the Clifton
Park Soccer Club for the upcoming 2004 2005 year. The AGM was
then closed.
PRESIDENT: We are still waiting for a response to the letter
we sent to the Town requesting expanded use of the lighted field at
the Commons in the fall. Teams need to contact Liz with Volunteer Coordinator
names and be thinking about who their Advertising coordinator will be.
PREMIER LEAGUE: ENY Premier League registration forms are online
at www.ENYsoccer.com. Deadline is December 15th. NE Regional forms are
online at www.Region1.com. Deadline is December 30th. Application fees
are $250. Applications must first be submitted to CDYSL for approval
and they forward them to ENY.
CDYSL: Only 10% of the teams are registered. There will only
be a one week grace period this year, facilities will be getting a daily
spread sheet regarding registrations. Get going! Risk Management forms
are coming along ok. If RM forms are not included with registration
packets, rosters will not be processed. Each coach must have their own
pass, married couples cannot share a pass. Also registrations must be
in Logical Solutions format. Ray Ward is State Cup Chairman this year.
State Cup registration for U12 - U18 opens November 1st and closes on
January 7th. Registration for U-19 is March 25th. You can register online
at ENY. Do not register multiple teams with the same sign on. Teams
cannot register more than 18 players. You can register by credit card
to speed up the process. State Cup results should be posted on the web
by Monday evenings after each play date in the spring. Indoor facilities
will follow the new guidelines for U-8 play. Scholarship forms are out.
Guilderland plans to split their club and add the Dutchmen United. They
will use the same fields. Referee fees will remain the same for the
year. For U-8s each ref will get ½ the fee. Placement forms
are being revised and should be out in early November. In an attempt
to cut down on forfeits, they are working on duel registrations for
U-16 and above. Guest Players need to be on the roster of
a lower team in your Club. U-8s have traditionally played on Mondays
and Fridays. Games may be moved to Friday, Saturday and Sundays with
4 of the 8 weekends having 2 games. The web site is taking shape. There
is a new form to request information from CDYSL. Exceptional Senior
game, some coaches did not provide player profiles. Any senior can be
included in the booklet regardless of their attendance in the Showcase
game. Volunteers are needed to help with the game.
REGISTRAR: If you have not done so, get your registration forms
in ASAP. No forms, no playing in the 1st indoor session.
TOURNAMENT: Peter introduced Rick Knizek as our new Tournament
Director. Rick is looking for an Assistant, if any one is interested,
please contact Rick. Rick will be conducting 2 sessions to certify anyone
whos interested in learning how to use the EDD (External Defibrillator)
which was donated to the Club by Dr. Schnider. Peter said it will be
mandatory for each team to have a coach or parent take the class and
become certified. Rick will also be teaching adult CPR.
VOLUNTEER: Please send your Volunteer Coordinator information

COACHING COMMITTEE: TWe have 20 Club teams, not counting any
U-8 teams. We have 3 girls Premier teams, U-13, U-14 and U-15 and 5
boys Premier teams, U-13 to U-17 and an U-18 Club/Premier team. So to
date, we have 29 teams formed for the CPSC. Indoor practice times will
be assigned at next months meeting. Indoor practices will begin
the first weekend in December.
ADULT
LEAGUE: Bill is looking into having an Adult Rec League at the
new Halfmoon Sportsplesx.
NOMINATIONS Next month is the Annual General Meeting and election
of officers for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, CDYSL
Representative, Registrar and four at Large Members. Joe Thorne is looking
for candidates interested in getting involved with the Club. Joe will
continue to touch base with current officers to see if they are still
interested in running and contact anyone expressing an interest in running
to answer any questions. If you are interested in running or if you
know of a potential candidate, contact Joe Thorne at 877-8127.
OLD BUSINESS: Nothing to report.
NEW BUSINESS: Mich asked if we were going to have the U-10 and
U-12 skills development coordinators to work with teams this year. Peter
indicated that a final decision had not been made yet. Karl reminded
everyone that the December Club meeting will be held at Ravenswood,
date will be announced at next months meeting.
