Clifton Park Soccer Club, Inc.
Minutes of September 21st, 2004

The next meeting is at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19th.

PRESIDENT: The Fall Rec program was cancelled last weekend due to the wet weather; this may have been the first cancellation in some 30 years of the program! The Rec photos will be rescheduled to the weekend of October 2nd, the same time slots will apply. Fields are available for practice; please stay off field 4 if possible. Move around and use all the fields. It’s great to see them be used by teams for practices.

PREMIER LEAGUE: Nothing to report.

CDYSL: Jonh Seltenreich was away but sent the following information. All fines and fees need to be paid. The new fees are to be posted on CDYSL’s web site. Dual registration is being reviewed. It is believed that this may be contributing to games being forfeited. Teams may be able to register their rosters on-line as soon as October. CDYSL will revisit club size/strength to improve representation for larger clubs. Local indoor facilities will be attempting to accommodate small-sided games for the U-8’s. Three additional clubs have contacted CDYSL about joining. C license courses are offered every even year. ODP will be increasing the use of assistant coaches for training.

REGISTRAR: If you have not registered your team, get this done ASAP. The indoor season is fast approaching and teams cannot enter or play sanctioned events without being registered.

TOURNAMENT: Nothing to report.

VOLUNTEER: Nothing to report.

COACHING COMMITTEE: The tryouts for the U-14 through U-18 travel teams finished last weekend. Coaches will be selected and notified after the Club meeting. U-8 sign ups will continue on Saturdays at 3 PM following the Rec soccer program. This year’s U-8 program will have changes. We are looking at having a developmental program rather than travel as this year it will be a 4v4 format. Teams would still be registered with CDYSL, could participate in tournaments and would have games on Mondays and Fridays at the Commons. Teams would meet and train for the first half of their time and play games the second half.

ADULT LEAGUE: ANothing to report.

NOMINATIONS Next month is the Annual General Meeting and election of officers for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, CDYSL Representative, Registrar and four at Large Members. Joe Thorne is looking for candidates interested in getting involved with the Club. Joe will continue to touch base with current officers to see if they are still interested in running and contact anyone expressing an interest in running to answer any questions. If you are interested in running or if you know of a potential candidate, contact Joe Thorne at 877-8127.

OLD BUSINESS: A letter has been sent to Supervisor Barrett requesting expanded use of the lighted soccer field at the Commons in the fall. The Club would like to see a uniform lighting policy for all of the sports programs at the Commons.

NEW BUSINESS: Question was asked about CDYSL’s ODP, was this something new? Is it similar to ODP? Response was that it is the replacement for the original CDYSL Select Program
