Minutes of May 16, 2006
The next meeting will be at 8:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, June 20th.
PRESIDENT: We have only received a few requests for games to
be played under the lights so far. Coordinate with Mich if you would
like to have a game under the lights. U-10 teams are encouraged to work
together and get two games side by side under the lights. Peter went
over the list of Clifton Park teams already signed up for our tournament,
applications were handed out to teams not yet signed up. Please get
your applications to Rick Knizek ASAP.
PREMIER LEAGUE: Nothing to report.
INDOOR:Nothing to report.
CDYSL: State Cup finals will be played in Saratoga this year
on the weekend of June 3rd and 4th. Proposals are being sought for an
online registration system. There has been some confusion this year;
reminder that teams should review your coaches guide. Tournament
schedules should be submitted 10 days in advance of your tournament.
Oneonta is using a 3 ref. system, if you have any games there, plan
accordingly. Some teams are in bad standing; one team has been dropped
from CDYSL.
REGISTRAR:Nothing to report.
TOURNAMENT: Peter announced applications are down from past years
and we have not seen applications from too many local teams. Coaches,
talk it up with local teams you play and inquire why local teams are
not entering the tournament. Ads, team photos and the names of players
in team photos are due to Janet Cody by May 31st at Acm2ej@aol.com.
Names should be listed back row, left to right, down to front row, left
to right.
VOLUNTEER: Nothing to report.
COACHING COMMITTEE: Tryout dates for next season were announced,
they have been moved back to July this season. The information is available
on our web site www.cliftonparksoccer.com. Evaluations will be distributed
to teams, encourage your parents to fill them out. Evaluations are due
back by May 31st. Coaching applications for next season, available on
line, are due back to Mark by June 15th.
INDOOR: Nothing to report.
ADULT LEAGUE: Nothing to report.
OLD BUSINESS: Nothing to report.
TOP SOCCER: Nothing to report.
NEW BUSINESS:Mich announced the remainder of all this seasons
field assignments will be posted on the bulletin board. If you have
a revised schedule or need to reschedule a game, please contact Mich
with this information. Karl referred to an article by Landon Donovan
that emphasized the importance of keeping coaching in perspective, keeping
it fun for the kids and warned about too much pressure leading to burn
out and children leaving sports.
