Minutes of May 19, 2005

The next meeting is at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21st.

PRESIDENT: Season has progressed reasonably well. Coaches you are responsible for putting away corner flags and un-staking your goals after each game. Goals should be moved off the lines. We need your cooperation so that the fields may be lined and the grass cut without having to stop and put flags away, un-secure goals and move them off the lines. It is too hard and time consuming for one person to do and get the fields lined. Goals must be secured for games and should be for practices as well. We have had one accident this season when a goal was blown over onto a coach during practice.

PREMIER LEAGUE: The season is progressing; a few games have had problems with referees not showing up.

CDYSL: Citizens Bank will be giving away soccer balls to all U-8 players. The AGM will be held at Cook Park on August 14th. CDYSL would like feedback on the new Guest Player Policy. Referee fees are posted on the web site. Coaches should routinely check the web for games, field closure and scores. Referee fees for U-8’s are $15, CDYSL will reimburse each Club $5 for each Ref used. State Cup play for U-10’s may be eliminated next year. Offers to host State Cup finals are being accepted for 2006-07. A new league has been started in Rockland County, Counties United. CDYSL is looking to host an ODP Tournament, contact the league office if your club is interested in hosting this. Hunter/Tannersville has joined CDYSL as a rec only club. The Sportplex has requested to form teams for some of the age groups. CDYSL would like to formalize an agreement with clubs regarding indoor play. Next meeting is June 9th.

REGISTRAR: Nothing to report.

TOURNAMENT: Fields at the Commons will be closed on Thursday, July 7th and Friday, July 8th this year in order to prepare the Commons for our tournament. Teams will NOT be allowed to practice at the Commons on Thursday and Friday prior to the tournament, coaches need to plan around this and finish practices by Wednesday or find alternate sites. Clifton Park teams need to fill out an application for the tournament to be registered to participate. Applications are available on the web site. If you have not provided Janet with the name of your players, team photos and such, you must do so by May 15th. We have lost the use of a field at the Shen campus, sponsorship is up and the number of teams is down a bit.

VOLUNTEER: Liz reported she experienced good cooperation, thanks.

COACHING COMMITTEE: Mich has posted the field assignments for the remainder of the season under the glass bulletin board. Coaching evaluation forms are going out, encourage your parents to fill them out. Coaching applications for next season are due by June 30th. Coaches are responsible for staking your goals and placing corner flags out and removing them after your game. If another game is to follow your game on the same field, the next team should assume responsibility for returning the flags and stakes. When practicing, stay out of the goal boxes and if you move goals, you must return them.

INDOOR: Nothing to report.

JR. REFEREES :

OLD BUSINESS: Nothing to report.

NEW BUSINESS: CDYSL will be requiring coaches to be licensed. If there is enough interest we could hold a course at the Clubhouse. Please let the Coaching Committee or Board members know if you are interested.

ADULT LEAGUE: The league plays on Monday nights from 6 to 8 PM. We have enough players for two games with 9 or 10 players per team.
