Clifton Park Soccer Club, Inc.
Minutes of April 12th, 2005

The next meeting is at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19th.

PRESIDENT: Frank Berger opened the meeting. Peter is away. Inquiries about Spring Rec soccer sign ups should be directed to Town Hall and Peter will handle them when he returns. Reminder that Parkside (Longkill) is available for team practices, certain nights of the week will become very crowded at the Commons once league play starts. Coaches should use Parkside for practice to alleviate overuse of the Commons. Please inform your team parents to use the parking lot at Parkside; vehicles should not park on the road leading into the Park. Teams should only be using half a field for practice, please cooperate and share your field with other teams. A request for nets on the goals at Parkside was made. Will ask Rick, we had problems with vandalism in the past.

PREMIER LEAGUE: If your games get cancelled, let Mich know ASAP. There is a demand for fields and rescheduling needs to be coordinated into the overall schedule. We still have 5 Clifton Park teams, of the 15 that started, involved in State Cup play.

CDYSL: Nothing to report.

REGISTRAR: Nothing to report.

TOURNAMENT: Fields at the Commons will be closed on Thursday, July 7th and Friday, July 8th this year in order to prepare the Commons for our tournament. Teams will NOT be allowed to practice at the Commons on Thursday and Friday prior to the tournament, coaches need to plan around this and finish practices by Wednesday or find alternate sites. Clifton Park teams need to fill out an application for the tournament to be registered to participate. Applications are available on the web site

VOLUNTEER: Liz reported we had an excellent turnout with our call for help for field work. Thank you.

COACHING COMMITTEE: Mich has not received a master schedule yet from CDYSL, once this is received, field assignments will be made and posted in the covered bulletin board for your games. Coaches are responsible for staking your goals and placing corner flags out and removing them after your game. If another game is to follow your game on the same field, the next team should assume responsibility for returning the flags and stakes. No scrimmages with outside teams until May 1st and any such scrimmage has to be approved and coordinated with Mich or Peter. Request should be made a week or two ahead of the planned scrimmage. When practicing, stay out of the goal boxes and if you move goals, you must return them.

INDOOR: Nothing to report.

JR. REFEREES :

OLD BUSINESS: Nothing to report.

NEW BUSINESS: Nothing to report.

ADULT LEAGUE: The league had a great indoor season and is looking forward to starting outdoor play soon. The league may be expanded to 6 teams as interest to play increases. The league is for Clifton Park adults.
