PRESIDENT: Final team placements for the Spring League are now posted on the CDYSL web site, http://www.cdysl.org/. Team pictures will be taken on Saturday, March 20th at Gowana. Teams will be processed quickly, every ten minutes a new team will be photographed. Coaches need to have their teams arrive on time and be ready for the photo. Time slots will be given out on a first come, first serve basis, see Peter after the meeting to sign your team up or call him between 9 AM and 5 PM only at 371-5369. We submitted our field request to CDYSL for the upcoming season and requested more open space be available for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Space will be at a premium this season as we will have ODP and Select sessions on Mondays, bulk of games are played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and Longkill will not be available for practices on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights as the Rec program will be using the space. Friday evenings and Sundays are good for practices. Weekday practices will have to be completed before 6:30 PM on fields reserved for games. Coaches will have to work together to accommodate the demand. Also night games can be scheduled. Coaches need to get agreement from the visiting coach for a game under the lights. The fields will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Peter requested that coaches for U-8 and U-10 teams get together and arrange schedules to have two games played under the lights at the same time. A few coaching clinics will be presented under the lights also. Peter asked the U-8 coaches to see him after the meeting to discuss the direction of small-sided soccer. Spring Rec applications are still being accepted at Town Hall.

TREASURER: Karl is away on vacation; if you need patches or a check, see Peter.

PREMIER LEAGUE: No teams will be in Region 1 this season. The boys U-13 and U-14 teams will play in ENY’s Premier League. About 10% of the teams appealed to the preliminary placements, decisions were made and the final placements have been set. May 1st is the deadline for dropping out of the league without a penalty. About 30% of the teams have submitted their rosters, rosters need to be received by March 31st. Transition to small sided soccer will start this spring, U-8’s and U-10’s will have one less player. It will be six and the keeper compared to seven and the keeper in the past. U-8 will be non-results oriented, scores and standings will not be kept. Additional changes for next year are being worked on and should be available for a vote at the April meeting. Permission to travel needs to be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the event. CDYSL may require all coaches to be licensed in the future. Dual registration within the league may become official; it is not finalized yet. Clubs were advised not to purchase up-grades to their software as ENY may buy on-line software from a different source.
